Certification

While the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not require certification of Service dogs or their trainers, TAV strongly supports the concept of certification to lend credence and consistency to the  working dog’s abilities.

We view a certification as the "Board Certified" credential for the Service dog and trainer whose proficiency is tested and proven. TAV is prepared to spearhead a higher and more consistent benchmark for Service dogs and trainers alike.

Professional dog trainers who aspire to become TAV Certified will acquire an extraordinary level of training and education at our Service Dog Trainers Academy. Direct coaching from PTSD/TBI specialists treating Veterans living with these and other injuries are an integral part of the curriculum.
